Description from Abis Architecture
“The Home was located in an advanced state of degradation, getting suffered numerous modifications and unplanned additions along the times, threatening to erase its original character. The original Project, developed by the architect Luis Jiménez de Laiglesia in 1964 for Pr-Mr. Jean de la Croix, suffered from consecutive modifications which disguised the purity of its structure and design and style of its base. The home was constructed in the course of the 60’s and as if it was an uncut diamond, it hides a really singular structural layout under its layers which we attempted to recover and improve, getting rid of preceding unnecessary architectural components.
The Diamond residence was rebuilt in order to show its original geometry and its distinct structure. In order to do so, all the unnecessary architectural elements had been removed: handrails, stairs, lattices, chimneys, and so on. Enlarging the surface of the house meant the reuse of every single space, used for storage or electric facilities, situated below the sanitary forging. Those spaces have been reused and have been turned into the main floor at the swimming pool and the terrace level.
Hence the total surface of the property was 324,90 squared meters distributed on 3 different floors. The 1st 1 was the floor with the principal entrance to the property, situated below the porch – developed according to a singular structure made of concrete-. The living room and the kitchen were situated on the second floor (primary floor) facing the swimming pool, garden and terrace. 4 suites with magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea have been placed on the upper floor. The access to the house from the base of the website to the major entrance was not easy. By the restoring of the home a bigger ramp was built in order to facilitate the access to the home.”
